Translation of the danish article:
Over time, the Holstein family has been behind several successful horses including the 9-year-old gelding Holstein's Bacardi D Balou e. Balou du Rouet/ Kermo's White Talisman. Bacardi is out of the mare Miss Holsteins Matinique, who herself was succesful show jumper and who is also the mother of the two offspring Holsteins Barbie Girl and Holsteins Marisha, who are also successful in the sport.
Holstein's Bacardi D Balou was partially sold a few years ago to the Danish family, Studd, who live in Wellington, USA. Here Sophia Studd rode him successfully and participated in several national and international classes at a high level. When Sophia went to Europe last year to improve her skills as a rider, Bacardi took the trip to Portugal's Adir Dias de Abreu, who has started a few events with him. The Portuguese rider does business with Danish Christina Nielsen, and they have contributed to the sale of the well-jumping gelding to Charlotte and Brian Bech-Hansen.
Charlotte and Brian live in the USA, where they run Tallin Farm - Danish Sports Horses LLC, and they have several Danish-bred horses, including the two stallions Vong's Brunello and Las Vegas H DWB. In a post on his Facebook, Brian talks about the purchase of Bacardi.
- Time will tell which ring he finds himself in, but we are excited to add him with our team of horses in Wellington for the WEF 2023 season, he writes among other things.
Bacardi has successfully competed internationally up to 145cm classes. In the video below you can see Sophia and Bacardi in action in a 140 cm class.
